Black Tiger

Sourced from the isles of Borneo, this species comes from a traditionally harvested pond in small quantities.

The Black Tiger (BT), or its latin name Penaeus Monodon, is commonly known as giant tiger prawn. It is the second most widely cultured shrimp in the world, after the Vannamei. The black stripes on its back are one of its signature characteristics, while its texture is more meaty than other shrimp species when cooked. Its size ranges from 2/4 until 41/50. Indonesia is well known for harvesting 16/20 as the main size for BT shrimp.
